Gregory (Greg) Allen Boyd, 55, of North Little Rock passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013. He was born to Patricia (Brion) Boyd and the late Jimmy Allen Boyd on January 18, 1958 in Chicago, IL.

He graduated from Green Forest High School in Arkansas in 1976 and served in the United States Navy for a tour of duty in the Philippines, Alaska and California. He was a disaster relief adjuster for Pilot Insurance Company. He enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid reader, cherished animals, was a movie enthusiast and film critic. Greg loved the ocean, was a skilled cook and was fondly referred to as "Chef Boyd". Greg found a relationship with God and dedicated his life to helping others and was a mentor to many.

He is survived by his mother, Patricia O'Brien and his step father, Jearl O'Brien, of Orlando, Florida; fiancé, Veronica Farrell and her daughter, Kristen Flake, of North Little Rock; sister, Cheri Murphy (spouse Randy); brother, Kevin Boyd (spouse Debbie), of Green Forest, Arkansas; step sister, Denisia Boyd; three nieces; four nephews; three great-nephews; one great niece; and will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Greg was a friend of Bill W. for 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Allen Boyd; and brother, Christopher Boyd.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, with a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, a Smith Family Funeral Home.
