Pamela Jean Kähler was born on September 26, 1967 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
She was the daughter of Harland Eugene “Red” Harper and Ona Mae Adams Harper and grew up in Camden, Arkansas. After graduating from high school, she moved to Little Rock and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
A friend once described Pam as, ”the glue that held us all together.” This statement is extremely accurate in many areas of Pam’s life. She took great pride in her family, and her relationship with her friends, and coworkers. In the workplace, she was the program manager, and the hub of all the activity in her department. She wasn’t the boss, but all the bosses came to her when and if they needed anything done.
Pam loved her extended family. She was there for every Christmas, Easter, and all the birthdays she could attend. She enjoyed shopping for presents for the little ones and seeing all of her aunts, uncles, and cousins. She always walked in with something to contribute to the festivities and insisted on helping to clean up.
She took great pride in her marriage of 31 years. She took her wedding vows seriously. She proudly stood with her husband for better or worse, in sickness and in health, till death do we part. In doing so she created a cheerful home, and a warm haven from all the stresses of day-to-day life.
Pam took the greatest pride in her role as a mother. When her daughter was born she adopted a philosophy of, “baby first.” That’s how she based all her decisions when it came to raising her beloved Amber. She was always there if Amber needed to talk. She supported all her school activities including a multitude of sports. Win or lose, Pam was there to cheer her daughter on.
Pam maintained friendships with multiple people that lasted well over 30 years. She enjoyed frequent phone calls with the friends who moved out of state. She often gathered with friends at local restaurants for food and conversations that lasted for hours. They all left with smiles and looked forward to the next get-together.
Pam had a heart that reached out to all the people around her. In her professional life she took pride in her job, but also cared about her coworkers. She was unconditionally there for her family, friends, daughter, and her husband. She was a smile that greeted you as you walked into the room, and a hug just before you left.
