Listen to Obituary

Pamela Gay (Cain) Murray, beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025, at the age of 71, following a very long and difficult illness.

Pam was predeceased by Hal H. Murray, Jr., her husband of 49 years, as well as her parents Carmon and Isabelle Cain, her stepmother Vivian Cain, sisters Judy Chitwood, Joan Hixon and JoAnn Sims, and brothers Doyle Cain, Donnie Crumpton and Willie Crumpton. She is survived by her son, Chris Murray, and her daughter Kimberly Murray, her sisters Shirley Warren and Shirley Garrett, her brother Wayne Crumpton, her mother-in-law Winnie Spencer, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Born on September 18, 1953, Pam worked for 40-plus years as a hairstylist, developing a loyal network of clients across the state of Arkansas. Pam displayed a natural talent for hairstyling, helping customers and family members alike to look and feel their best, but her greatest achievement and joy in life was being a mother. Family was always the most important thing in Pam’s life. In addition to her two children, Pam was always there for her siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends who were like family. Whether it was providing a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on, a haircut, or a wonderful home-cooked meal, Pam always extended compassion and kindness to everyone that she met.

Throughout her prolonged illness, Pam never lost her faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Pam was raised in the Baptist faith and was quick to spread the Word to family and friends alike. Those close to Pam can take heart in knowing that she is now pain- free in the presence of Jesus.
