Pat Cross

Pat Cephas Cross, Jr., 89, died June 16, 2014 at his home in Little Rock. He was born on August 5, 1924, in Huntsville, Alabama. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dolores Hambuchen Cross; his son, Ronald E. Cross (April) of Cato; his daughter-in-law, Margie Cross of Malvern; his stepson, Michael Gowen (Gretchen) of Little Rock; his stepdaughters, Mary Bermudez (Julio) of Yuma, Arizona, Laura Humphries (Mark) of Little Rock and Phyllis Marks (Phillip) of Orlando, Florida. Survivors also include 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Cora Stevens and Pat C. Cross, Sr., and by a son, Richard Cross.

Pat was a veteran of World War II's European Theater. While there he earned the WWII Victory Medal, a Silver Star, and a Purple Heart. He worked for Missouri-Pacific Railroad from 1949 to 1986. He loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar to entertain residents at nursing homes and at the Patrick Hayes Senior Center in North Little Rock.

Vigil and visitation will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 19 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Little Rock followed by a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Msgr. Francis Malone will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, June 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King, followed by interment with Military Honors at 1:00 p.m. at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
