Listen to Obituary

Patricia Ann Campbell, a beloved member of the Benton community and a devoted servant to her family and faith, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026. Born on September 10, 1930, Patricia's life was a testament to selflessness, love, and unwavering devotion, earning her the cherished nickname "Saint Nannie." She embraced a life centered on faith, family, and service, living each day with humility and grace that profoundly touched all who knew her.

Patricia dedicated many years to Hurricane Creek Federal Credit Union, where she worked until her retirement. Beyond her professional career, she found joy and purpose in serving her church and community. As a longstanding member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Benton, Arkansas, she held numerous roles including Director of Religious Education, Youth Director, Liaison to CJOHN (where she also served as Treasurer), Eucharistic Minister to the Sick and Homebound, Captain for Adoration Chapel, and Hospice Meals Coordinator. Her compassionate heart extended beyond the church walls as she actively participated in St. Joseph’s Helpers, a pregnancy resource center, and was a committed member of the Pro-Life Movement Center. Patricia’s dedication to serving others was unmatched, and her faith was the cornerstone of her extraordinary life.

A loving wife for 53 years, Patricia shared a beautiful, faith-filled marriage with her late husband, Leon "Muscles" Campbell, a local Saline County legend. Together, they nurtured a large and loving family, a dream Patricia always held close to her heart. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, being ‘Nannie’ was one of the greatest joys of her life. Patricia’s home was a refuge where Sundays were sacred for gathering around big meals, fellowship, and laughter. She was known for her culinary talents, capable of feeding an army with her remarkable meals. Summers were full of vibrant family memories: swimming in the pool, hosting week-long sleepovers for Vacation Bible School, and taking trips to Willow Springs and Six Flags. Her hospitality warmly extended to family friends as well, as she opened her heart and home without hesitation.

Patricia’s family fondly remembers her as a woman who always put others first, often sacrificing her own needs to care for those around her. Her presence was a steadfast source of support, whether at celebrations or sporting events: she showed up, always. Jesus was Patricia’s best friend, and her family witnessed her daily conversations with Him, a spiritual bond that shaped every aspect of her life.

She is survived by her sister, Rita Allen (Terry); her children Michael Campbell (Linda), Pat Campbell (Teena), Rita Pierceall (Cliff), and Gwen Simpson; daughter-in-law Kathy Campbell; son-in-law Buddy Burrow; grandchildren Craig Campbell (Dana), Cristin Goocher (Boyd), Monica Lovell (Curtis), Jennifer Greer (Todd), Kimberly Bailey (Ben), Clint Burrow (Kelley), Kacie Davis (Rusty), Holli Harrington (Patrick), Luke Kordsmeier (Mandy), Aaron Poe (Dena), James Simpson, Drew Simpson (Alecia), and Patrick Simpson (Taylor); great-grandchildren Gray, Elliott, Kamryn, Karsyn, Audrey, Campbell, Presley, Neely, Maya, Tessa, Rylie, Raygan, Peyton, Beckett, Hayley, Alyssa, Dawson, Collyns, Oaklyn, Ava, Brody, Allie, and Caitlin; and five great-great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by this large and loving family, as well as many close friends.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents Joe Sr. and May Gaylo; her husband Leon "Muscles" Campbell; her brother Joe Gaylo Jr.; sister-in-law Cecelia; her son Joe Campbell; her daughter Robin Burrow; grandchildren Nikki Burrow, Allie Chambliss, Matthew Campbell, and Carmin Simpson; great-grandchild Charlie Kate Kordsmeier; and sons-in-law Bob Kordsmeier and Wendell Simpson.
