Listen to Obituary

Patricia Ann Daniels, age 86, passed away on April 20, 2026, surrounded by her family in her home. Pat was born on March 22, 1940, in Arkadelphia, AR to Dale Bennett and Mamie Buck Bennett. She worked at West Department Store for many years, retired from Ouachita Baptist University, and was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church. She was known for her quick wit, for her many creative talents, and for her delight in bringing the people she loved together: she was quick to show her love by growing and preparing delicious meals, sewing beautiful dresses, and sharing stories and laughter with those closest to her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Royce Childress, and their triplet sons, Timmy, Jimmy, and Johnny Childress; by her second husband, Donald Daniels; by her sister, Billie Jean Hardin; and by her brother, Bobby Bennett. Pat is survived by her daughters, Pam Bell (Andy) of Bismarck, AR and Anna Smith (Terry) of Arkadelphia, AR; by her grandchildren Blake Bell (Meredith), Dustin Bell (Ashley), Jordan Bell (Lisa), Andrew Smith (Vania), and Aaron Smith (Sarah); by her great-grandchildren, Adam Bell (Ashley), Allie Bell, Jarrett Bell (Lacey), Cooper Bell, and Nora Smith; by her great-great-granddaughter, Elise Bell; and by a number of nieces and nephews.

A visitation service will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Arkadelphia, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be officiated by Erby Burgess and Craig Seals. Burial will take place at Valley Cemetery in Bismarck, AR, where pallbearers will include Pat’s grandsons; her son-in-law Terry; and her nephew Mike Bennett as honorary pallbearer.
