Patricia D. (Martin) Hughes

Patricia D. (Martin) Hughes, age 68, of New DeRoche passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025. She was born July 27, 1956 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to the late Robert Lee and Myrtle Marie (Loy) Martin. Mrs. Pat was a loving and giving wife and grandmother, who would give the shirt off her back to anyone. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved gardening. Mrs. Pat just enjoyed life, helping the community, and lots of laughter. Mrs. Pat was a fearless and strong woman. She was preceded by her parents; siblings, Murvin Martin, Marilyn Sue Bray, Jean Baker, and Steven Michael Martin.

Survivors include her husband, Garvis Hughes of New DeRoche; children, Jana Lingo, Kelly Purifoy, and Amy Clayton, all of New DeRoche; grandchildren, Dray (Brooke) Williams, Jasa (Gabe) Williams, Victoria Lingo, Ethan (Jasmine) Purifoy, Kimberly (Luke) Purifoy, and Dylan Clayton; great-grandchild, Londyn Purifoy; siblings, Charles Don Martin and Barbara Slaughter; sister-in-law, Martha Sue McDermott (Randy); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Prairie Bayou Cemetery in New DeRoche with Brother Chris Morrison officiating. Pallbearers are Tyler Honeycutt, Tim Bray, Jarrod Bray, Scott Hatfield, Chad Slaughter, David R. Williams, Jamie Martin and Robert Martin. Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Martin, Dean Slaughter and Shane McDermott.
