Patricia A. Smedley

Patricia A. Smedley, 87, of Glenwood, passed away February 16, 2026. She is reunited in eternal rest with her parents, Numan and Goldie Smedley, and her brother Dick Smedley. Pat is survived by her cousins Betty Sue Self, Bobbie Yeargan, Bill Diggs, and Gary Diggs. Her surviving family includes her nephew, Tom Smedley, and niece, Renee Heschl. She leaves behind a lifetime of friends including Rick and Pat Leverton of Kirby, and Freida Adams of Sherwood. Her family thanks the staff and team at Country Club Village, The Atrium and The Springs on Park Avenue for their care and service to Pat and her fellow residents. Special thanks to Vickie Harnden who has provided not just caring services, but friendship and love this past year plus to Pat in Hot Springs.

Pat was an Arkansan through and through. Her time growing up in Glenwood and then a career with Southwest Bell in Little Rock gave her great appreciation of the state and its beauty. She loved the outdoors and traveling, but loved her animals, owned and adopted even more. Her dogs, cats, chickens, and other of God’s creatures were her great love and companions. She would take in any animal and share her love and food with them.

A memorial service will take place at Smith Family Funeral Home in Glenwood, AR, on Saturday, February 21, 2026. Visitation will be from Noon to 1 PM with the service beginning at 1 PM. Final burial graveside internment in the Glenwood Cemetery, Highway 70, following the memorial.
