Patsy Carol Carr Conder Engelberger

Patsy Carol Carr Conder Engelberger passed away at the age of 84 on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Perry County Nursing and Rehab Center while under the care of Hospice Home Care of Conway. Patsy was born on December 18, 1941, in Miller, Arkansas, near Heber Springs, to Lynn Alvin and Betty Anne Carr. 

She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Conder Zeringue of Mayflower and Terri Conder Johnson (Randy) of Conway; her brother, Gary Carr of Heber Springs; her grandchildren, Ryan Johnson (Kylie), Tyler Zeringue (Carly), and Garrett Johnson; and her great-grandchildren, T.J. and Tatum Zeringue. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lynn and Betty Carr; her sisters, Vernelle King, Ernestine Mahan, Betty Jean Russell, Neva Smith, Janie Smith, and Bobbie Burnette; and her brother, James “Ed” Aldridge. 

Patsy married the love of her life, Bob Engelberger, on November 6, 1996. During their 30 years of marriage, they traveled, socialized with their many friends, and enjoyed life to the fullest. Throughout Patsy’s life, her relationships with her sisters and brothers were central to who she was. The Carr and Aldridge families spent countless hours together, socializing, laughing, and making memories. Patsy was an accomplished seamstress and worked for more than 20 years as a successful sales representative for Dillard’s Department Stores, earning many sales awards during her tenure. 

Her favorite pastime was bragging about her daughters to anyone willing to listen. She was a devoted mother who especially enjoyed watching her daughters participate in athletics throughout high school and college. Although Patsy did not attend college herself, she strongly believed in the importance of education and encouraged both daughters to earn college degrees. Seeing them walk across the stage to receive their diplomas was among the proudest moments of her life—until her grandchildren came along. From then on, her daughters gladly took a back seat, and Patsy became “Mimi” for the rest of her life. 

Patsy was known for her infectious smile and laughter, and she will forever be remembered that way. 

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 28, at Smith Funeral Home in Conway, 1751 Dave Ward Drive, Conway, Arkansas 72034. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., with the service following at 2:00 p.m.
