Patsy Louise Spoon, of Hot Springs, passed away on June 5th at the age of ninety. Welcoming her to the Kingdom of Heaven are her parents, Mary Matilda (Collier) and William Preston Teal, her sister Maxine Teal, her brother Jerry Teal, and her daughter Vickie Taylor. She is survived by her brother James Teal, her daughters Debbie Spoon and Connie (Kelley) Powers, her granddaughter Katrina Taylor (Stephen DeGrasse), and her great grandsons Preston DeGrasse and Bailey DeGrasse.
As a several decades' long member of Oaklawn Baptist Church, she enjoyed the fellowship of her brothers and sisters in Christ at every available turn. She was active in her Sunday School class and the church choir. Using her gifts to help those around her, she was truly a demonstration of God's grace in action with a Servant's heart and an Angel's voice.
She shared her gift with the masses by singing with the Sweet Adelines for several years before returning home to Arkansas to care for her mother. Caring for others was Patsy's true nature. She helped people through some of the toughest times during her 11 years at the Public Administrator's Office in San Diego County, California.
Patsy was a proud graduate of Lakeside High School Class of 1952 where she was an active social butterfly and member of the school choir.
Her desire for camaraderie didn't end on the stage or behind a microphone, she brought the same level of dedication and competitive edge to the drag strip as one of California's first ever Powder Puff Drag Racecar drivers.
She will be remembered for her flair for life, her love for her family, and her passion for God's eternal blessings. Celebration of life service arrangements will be announced through Smith Family Funeral Home at a later time.
