Patti J Parker, age 84, of Glenwood, died on Thursday, October 20, 2022, in her home surrounded by her children. She was born on January 31, 1938, at Star of the West, the daughter of Crawford and Vesta (Meeks) Boyd. On June 4, 1960, she married Don Paul Parker who proceeded her in death on August 9, 1991. She was also proceeded in death by her parents and sister, Ellouise Conway.

Patti graduated from Glenwood High School in 1956, received her Bachelor’s degree from Henderson State Teacher’s College in 1960, and received her Master’s in Business Education from Henderson State College in 1969. She was a business teacher and yearbook sponsor for 32 years. The majority of that time was spent in Mabelvale Jr. High and Cloverdale Jr. High in Little Rock. She served on the Glenwood City Council for 8 years and City Recorder/Treasurer.

Patti loved to travel, read, and watch her beloved Atlanta Braves, Dallas Cowboys, and Arkansas Razorback teams. She loved planning and taking her family on “Mammaw Patti trips.”

She is survived by her children, Donna and Mike Williams of Glenwood, Deanna and Jeff Porter of Bryant, and Darby Parker of Greenbrier; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Keri and Jarrid Francis, John Lindsey, Angel Lindsey, Karlee and Sterling Pruitt, Kannon Porter, Stephanie and Jordan Abbey, and Jace Wells-Parker; five great-grandchildren, Braden and James Lindsey, Alexandria and Kaysen Abbey, and Brooklyn Pruitt; one brother, V.T. Boyd of Cortez, CO; one sister-in-law, Jackie Rodgers of El Dorado; her special traveling buddy, Marilyn Hays of Little Rock; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 24, in Shiloh Cemetery at Star of the West near Newhope, AR.

Directions to cemetery: From Glenwood Hwy 70W to Kirby, turn right to continue on Hwy 70W to Pappy Turner Road (Shiloh Cemetery Road), Star of the West, AR.

Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Glenwood.
