Paul M. Christensen, Sr., 91, of Sherwood passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011. He was born August 18, 1919 in Glendale, Kansas to the late Martin C. and Freida C. Lebert Christensen. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II at the Battle of the Bulge. Paul retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 35 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of North Little Rock, volunteered at Southwest and Baptist Springhill Hospital for many years and was an avid sports participant and fan.
He is survived by his daughters, Ann Miller of Maumelle and Jane Ginn of North Little Rock; daughter-in-law, Linda Christensen of Jacksonville; six grandchildren, Kathy McKane (Ken), Larry Haskins (Linda), Johnny Christensen (April), Joan Dyer, Eric Miller (Jamie) and Christie Ginn; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katheren S. Christensen; son, Paul M. Christensen, II. and one great-grandson, Zachary.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
