Peggie Linz

Peggie J. Linz, age 89, joined her husband Charles R. Linz to be with their Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 3rd, 2021, in North Little Rock, Arkansas.  She was born October 7, 1931 in Little Rock, Arkansas, the youngest of six children of Isom Alvus and Mary Ophelia Williams.

Peggie met the love of her life and husband of 72 years, Charles Linz, when she was 17, and after she graduated Little Rock Central High School they were married August 26, 1949.  Peggie raised their family and supported her husband in his 40-year military career, which ended when he retired as Adjutant General for Air with multiple duties as Commander of the Arkansas Air National Guard, and Chief of Staff on June 30, 1991.

Peggie was fun-loving and loved going camping, boating, swimming and skiing, and later traveling and camping in their RV.  She kept an immaculate and charming home and loved flowers, birds, and working in their yard.  She was a loyal Arkansas Razorbacks and St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Peggie’s husband Charles predeceased her on July 1, 2021.  She was a dedicated wife and a loving mother to their daughters, Rebecca L. Lynn, Heber Springs, and Toni D. Stump, Ward, Arkansas, and a devoted grandmother to three grandchildren, Laura L. Ivy, Richard A. Golla and Dillon M. Dyson.  She was a doting great-grandmother to 3 great-grandchildren:  Avery Ivy, Amelia Ivy, and Nicholas Golla.

The family extends special gratitude to Debbie Sunior, Peggie’s loving friend and caregiver.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM, Friday, October 15, 2021at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 11:00 AM at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, you make a donation to the March of Dimes, or to your local senior citizens organization to support its “Meals on Wheels” program, or to a charity of your choice.
