Peggy Jane Fay

February 15, 1940 — May 3, 2023

Little Rock

Peggy Jane Fay, 83, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away peacefully in her sleep May 3, 2023.  She was born February 15, 1940 in Warren, Arkansas to the late Raymond Gambill and Alice (McGhee) Gambill.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters:  Alice Comer, Jacquelin Penix, Betty Sue Deroche, Karen Wilkerson, and Sharon Kitchens; and three brothers:  Winford Gambill, Donny Gambill, and Harold Duane Gambill.

Peggy leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Edward “Bubba” Fay (Lois); daughters:  Rebecca “Becky” Davis (Richard), Ann Marie Bryant, Deborah “Debbie” Patrick (Tommy), Linda Gale Stumbaugh (Don), and Rita Diane Taylor (Robert); fifteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Patty Loucretia Gambill; and a host of family and friends who love Peggy and will miss her always.

Peggy was a lifelong Arkansas native.  She cared deeply for her family and her canine buddy, Doobie.  Peggy loved to visit her family and looked forward to their calls and visits.  She was an amazing cook with her family’s favorite being her turkey and dressing and pot roast.  Some of her hobbies included fishing, camping, and playing the slots.  Peggy had a beautiful voice for singing. She believed in living her life her way.  We will miss you, but we know you are with Jesus and you suffer no more.  Psalms 90:10 says, “Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures;
yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow,    for they quickly pass, and we fly away.”  And  John 16:22 says, “Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.”  These verses remind us that death is not final-we will see each other again.  Although we are saying goodbye to you, we love you Mom.  You will forever be in our hearts.

Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Thursday, May 11, with Memorial service following at 11:00 AM at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, Arkansas.
