Peter J. Fosco, a distinguished labor leader and beloved family man, passed away on November 4, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on December 17, 1945, Peter dedicated much of his life to serving others through his exemplary career in labor relations and community service. He served as the Vice President and Regional Manager of the Laborers' International Union of North America, where his commitment left an indelible mark.

Peter's impressive list of accomplishments included being the President of the Groundhog Club of Chicago, a Vice President of the United Coalition for Community Action in Chicago, Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Chicago Public Library. His influence extended further as he served on numerous boards, including the New Orleans Municipal Harbor Board and as a Trustee of the Labourers' Pension Fund of Central and Eastern Canada, Board Member of the American Police Center and Museum of Chicago, Chairman of many LIUNA Health and Welfare Funds, and Chairman of many L.E.C.E.T. funds. Peter's dedication was recognized with several honors, including being named City of Hope Man of the Year and Israel Bond Man of the Year, as well as being a delegate to both the 1984 and 1996 Democratic National Conventions.

In addition to his professional achievements, Peter was a man of warmth and character. He was known for his hard-headed yet loving disposition, and those who knew him cherished the many memories shared. He was a passionate cook, famously creating amazing Italian dishes that brought family and friends together. In his spare time, he enjoyed being on the water, riding his motorcycle, and listening to beautiful music.

Peter is survived by his wife, Nancy Fosco, and their family: son, Peter A. Fosco; daughter, Julie and Robert Stringer; brother, Paul and Dee Dee Fosco; sister, Marycarm and Terry Healy; and grandchildren, Michelle and Lars Sampson, Melissa Stringer, Paul Fosco, Alexandra and Austin Coke, and  Dominic Fosco. Along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and godchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Angelo J. Fosco and Rosemary Bray.

A visitation will be held on November 7, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by a funeral service from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, both taking place at Smith Family Funeral Home in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Peter Fosco leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and camaraderie that will continue to inspire all who had the honor of knowing him. His life was a testament to the values of hard work, integrity, and the importance of family and community. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his countless contributions and the love he shared.
