Phyllis Marie Forga Diggs, 92,  went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 15, 2026. She was born in Glenwood, Arkansas, on June 5, 1933, to Hubert and Hattie Forga.

She graduated from Mount Ida High School in 1951. She married Paul Johnston Bailey on January 24, 1954 and they had two children, Kevin & Denise. They were married for 36 years. While they were living in California, she worked as a telephone operator at Southwestern Bell. After they moved back to Arkansas, she graduated from Henderson State University in 1975 with a BSE in Education. She taught third grade for 7 years with the Caddo Hills Public Schools and Lake Hamilton Public Schools.

She loved reading, baking, flower gardening, and sewing. She also loved biking, hiking, and water skiing. She rode a bicycle across the state of Iowa (RAGBRAI) with her family in 1985. She hiked with the Ozark Mountain Hikers club; she liked traveling, which included trips to the Holy Land and Alaska. She was a member of Ouachita Baptist Church in Mount Ida. She sang in the choir in earlier years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Diggs. She is survived by her two children, her son Kevin Paul Bailey and his wife Sharla of Bolivar, MO; her daughter Denise Marie Baker of Rogers, AR; three grandchildren, Aaron James Baker of Dallas, TX; Adam Jarrod Baker of Springdale, AR and Adrianna Jordin Soucy and her husband Kyle of Fort Smith, AR and her only sibling Verna Sue Rowe of Alma, AR.

Pallbearers are: Kevin Bailey, Aaron Baker, Adam Baker, and Kyle Soucy.

Honorary pallbearers are: Melisa Konczal, Rhonda Thornton, Lisha Taylor, Michelle Robertson, and Valerie.

There will be a private family graveside service at Mount Tabor Cemetery.
