Phyllis Mae Polston

Phylis Mae Polston, 76 of Mabelvale, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 9, 2024. Phylis was born on December 22, 1947, to Ike and Lois Daniels of Coy, Arkansas who both preceded her in death along with her grandson, Kevin “Tyler” Cox. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Gary Polston, and her daughter Sheila Meek (Dwight).

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Samantha Cox, Toby Cox (Macey); and great- grandchildren: Aliva, Samuel and Cooper Cox. She is also survived by many beloved cousins in northern Arkansas of the Hill family.

She dearly loved her family and church family. She was an active member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas for over 40 years. Serving the Lord brought her joy.

Phylis will be remembered for her unwavering love and support of her family and her coworkers in her long career as a medical coding professional. Phylis attended Central High School and upon graduating attended Draughon School of Business in Little Rock, AR. She had an accomplished career of 50 years spent at both Baptist and UAMS hospitals where she enjoyed mentoring up and coming coders until she retired at the age of 73.

A memorial service to honor Phylis will be held in the New Year at a to be determined date at Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Little Rock located at 1223 Garfield Drive.

Her spirit will undoubtedly continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know and love her.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to Unity Missionary Baptist Church, 1223 Garfield Dr, Little Rock, AR 72204.
