Ralph Gregory “Greg” Simmons, Jr passed away Tuesday June 9, 2026 at his home. Greg was born to Ralph and Ella Simmons on September 15, 1944 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He married his wife of 60 years, Louise Moran, in 1966. Together they had three children.

Greg was a jack of all trades. He retired as a Captain from the Little Rock Fire Department and ran a dairy farm. He was also a skilled carpenter. He loved to hunt quail, dove, and duck and was an avid fisherman. Greg worked as a quail hunting guide for many years. He was passionate about restoring his 1973 Jeep with his son Trey.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Edna Louise Moran Simmons, his two children, Christie (Chris) Abbott, and Trey (Dana) Simmons. He is also survived by granddaughters, Jordan (Brad) Sherrill, Macee Abbott, and two great granddaughters Lynlee River Sherrill and Reed Claire Sherrill. He is also survived by a sister, Karen Richardson.

Greg was preceded in death by his son Jason Gregory, his parents, and grandparents.

In accordance with Greg’s wishes, no funeral service will be held.
