Randall Leister, 79, of Little Rock, passed away May 2, 2011, at his home. He was born March 30, 1932, to Herbert Keith and Edith Hearrell Leister in Olney, Oklahoma. Randall was a deacon of Tyler Street Baptist Church, an Army Veteran, and a forester for the Arkansas Forestry Commission for nearly 30 years. He was honored by the University of Arkansas at Monticello with a scholarship in his name.
Preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Herbert Andrew, he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Charley Sue Holeman Leister; two children, Lloyd Leister (Sharron) and Randa Biddle (Robert); three grandchildren, Rosemary Dixon (Will), Graham Beard (Amy) and Kimberly Davis (Brad); and four great-grandchildren, Abby, Abe, Joe and Jessa; and a sister, Melba Tatom of Louann, Arkansas.
Services will be Thursday, May 5 at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00. Burial will follow at Ida Mission Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tyler Street Baptist Church or Baptist Hospice.
