Randy Land, age 51 of Okolona, died Sunday, July 1, 2012 in Hot Springs. He was born January 12, 1961 in Malvern, AR, the son of Harroll Jerry and Thelma Sue Efurd Land. He was a member of Sycamore Church. Randy was very active in the Arkadelphia and surrounding areas, was the owner/operator of Arkadelphia Pool & Supply, a bus driver for Gurdon Public Schools, served as the Youth Pastor at Sycamore Church, as Fire Chief of Gum Springs Volunteer Fire Department and was a First Responder for Clark County.
Randy is survived by his wife, Belinda Burton Land, one son, Justin Land and wife Nicole, one daughter, Jessica Land, two grandsons Mason & Dixon Land all of Okolona; his father & mother, Jerry & Susie Land of Hot Springs; one brother Ronnie Land of Curtis and his maternal grandmother Thelma McCray of Malvern.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 4th in Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel with Chad Cox and Ronnie Vanderslice officiating. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Carlin Phillips, Donald Benson, Mike Sanders, Jay Riley, Kenny Taylor, Steve Allen, Brad Loy and Dustin Self. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Gum Springs Fire Department and Clark County First Responders. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or American Kidney Foundation.
