Randy Arthur Schroeder, 68, of Griffithville, Arkansas entered Heavenly rest on March 13, 2026. Born on August 20, 1957 to Betty Jean (Floyd) and Udell Ernie Schroeder in Stuttgart, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty, his father, Udell, as well as his former wife of 20 years & mother to his children, Christine Melinda Laney. Randy is survived by his three children, Heather Schroeder (Josh), Christopher Schroeder, Sarah Sears (Larry), his siblings, Ronny Schroeder (Jennifer), Lindy Rabeneck (Jim), Brian Schroeder (Penny), his five beloved grandchildren, Reagan and Hazel Harbach, Lucas Schroeder, and Wyatt and Grayson Sears, and his cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
A man of many talents, Randy’s earliest career ventures began at his family’s White River Lodge where he shared his avid hunting skills by guiding duck hunters from all over the USA. Though he took much pride in this role, it was the duck hunts he shared with his son, Christopher, that brought him the most joy.
While married, he and his former wife, Christine, embarked on their first shared career adventure by sainting a hog farm for 10 years. Eventually, this led them to launching a successful catering business, Kountry Katering. Their culinary services were enjoyed throughout Arkansas, even crossing state lines into Oklahoma and Texas. However, it was the local fairgrounds that celebrated Randy’s culinary talents the most. It was here that he served his famous pork chop sandwich that locals still post publicly about missing to this day - a reoccurring gesture that always brought a smile to his face & warmed his heart. Randy took great pride in serving his community.
In recent years, finding Randy meant looking outdoors. Whether he was working on his latest project of building a houseboat to sail the Mississippi, or exploring serene rivers and lakes of both Iowa and Arkansas, this is where he felt most in his element. It is also where he made memories of a lifetime with his cherished children. His recent trip to the Ozarks with his daughter, Heather, gave them the opportunity to bond over their shared love and respect of these lands.
Family time at Lake Ouachita was a favorite of Randy’s to reminisce. It was here he’d spent countless weekends among family and friends. Many still recall lake days when Randy boisterously threw them off their tubes as kids, as well as the many memorable campouts on the lake’s islands. One island in particular was anchored deepest in Randy’s heart: “Sarah’s Island.” He named the island after his youngest daughter, Sarah, when she joined them on their first camping trip as a family of five at just one year old.
With heavy yet full hearts, the family invites those he loved and deeply touched most to join them in celebrating Randy’s life and divine departure.
