Raymond Eugene Abbott, age 68, passed away July (29), 2013. Raymond was born on September 14, 1944 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Raymond is survived by his wife; Patricia Abbott of Siloam Spring, AR, 2 sons; William Abbott of Russellville, AR, Scott Chaplin of Wye Mountain, 1 daughter; Pamela Chaplin of Tulsa, OK, 2 sisters; Patsy Hobby of Sardis, AR, Jeanette Williams and husband Mac of Alexander, AR, 1 brother; James Abbott of Alexander, AR, as well as many other family members and friends all who loved him dearly and will miss him always.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; Woodrow Abbott and Rosa Abbott-Mullings, 2 sons; Raymond Eugene Abbott and Patrick Eugene Abbott, and siblings; Rosemary Moak, Billy Abbott, Fay Harris, and Danny Jack Mullings.
Raymond was a member of Vimy Ridge Immanuel Baptist Church. He retired out of the aviation industry. He loved helping people.
A visitation will be held Friday, August 2nd, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Home, Benton Chapel, 322 North Market Street, Benton, AR. Funeral service, officiated by Rev. James Thurston and Gary Hobby, will be Saturday, August 3rd at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Butler Cemetery with pallbearers Lisa Burchfield, Mandy Abbott, Jessica Paradise, William Doshier, Junior Long, Cameron Abbott, Danny Williams, Dusty Williams, and Marty Williams assisting.
