Reginald Capps, Sr.

December 11, 1942 — August 18, 2021

Reginald Capps, Sr.

Reginald Barry Capps Sr., 78, of North Little Rock passed from this life on August 18, 2021. He was born December 11, 1942, in San Diego, California to the late Paul and Iva (Davidson) Capps. Reggie loved motorcycles and was a multi-engine, instrument rated pilot. He was intelligent and a consumer of all current politics, always having strong opinions and a willingness to share them. Mr. Capps attended Castle Heights Military Academy where he proudly served on the color guard and earned a reputation for being rambunctious and strong willed (which also landed him in military school). His early exploits produced many tales inducing gut wrenching laughter. His grandchildren affectionately referred to them as “Grandpa Reggie stories”. We are happy to say he never completely outgrew his orneriness and have those memories to cherish forever.

He was a retired veteran of the United States Army Reserves, farmer, and business owner. Honest and fair-minded, he always told the truth and expected that from others. His integrity will live on in those close to him. He will always be remembered as a caring husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. In addition to his parents, a brother, Paul Dean Capps preceded him in death.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of thirty-six years, Martha (French) Capps; son, Reginald Barry Capps Jr., and wife Natalie of Little Rock; grandchildren, Harden Capps, Pate Capps, and Jacqueline Capps. Other survivors include sister-in-law, Patty Capps of Sherwood; cousins, Carol Louise Powers of Conway, and Dale Grady of Alexander, nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
