Richard A. Brown

Richard A. Brown, age 73, of Glenwood, died Thursday, August 16, 2012. He was born on August 14, 1939 in Delight. On June 26, 1959, he was married to Sue West. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Gertie Mitchell; five brothers; and two sisters. A retired truck driver, he was employed for many years with Midway Motor Freight and Meyers Bakery. Richard enjoyed and followed sports of all kinds, hunting and especially fishing. He is survived by his wife, Sue Brown of Glenwood; three children, Tina Thrash and her husband, Stanley, of Bentonville, David Brown and his wife, Lisa, of Greenbrier and Todd Brown and his girl friend, Ashley Anderson, of Glenwood; four grandchildren, Coleman Thrash, Ryan Brown, Dillan Brown and Lakin Brown; his brother, Herman Brown of Corpus Christi, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 19, 2012 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. J. B. Evans officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, 2:00 PM until service time.
