Richard ?Rocky? Dillon, 88 of North Little Rock, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2009. He served during WWII in the United States Air Force, and then joined the Army Reserves where he retired after 30 years of service. He was affiliated with the Burns Park Baseball Association where he coached Tiny League, Little League, and Pony League baseball.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Suzan Dillon of North Little Rock; 2 daughters, Rebecca Rettig of Bryant, and Valdia Takushi of North Little Rock; 3 sons, Jerry (Phyllis) Dillon of Little Rock, Woody (Gina) Dillon of Atlanta, Georgia, and Mike Childers of North Little Rock; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; his twin brother, Richmond ?Red? Dillon and his wife Francis of St. Louis, Missouri; and brother, William Dillon of Benton. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Richard ?Dickie? Dillon, Jr., and Manley Dillon; granddaughter, Allison Dillon; and brother, Charles Dillon.
Funeral services will be held at10:00 A.M. Wednesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Arkansas Memorial Gardens.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, 758-1170.
