Richard (Dick) Eckler, 77, went to be with his Lord November 29th 2008. He was born in Norman, OK to the late Victor & Margie Eckler of Palestine, TX. Dick served in the US Army in Korea; Vietnam; Japan; Germany; Ft. Benning, GA; Ft. Leavenworth, KS; and Ft. Bragg, N.C.; retiring in 1973. He then worked for the State of Arkansas retiring with 19 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sally Moon Eckler of North Little Rock; son, Benjamin Richard Eckler of North Little Rock; and grandson, Ryan Eckler of North Little Rock; sister, Mary Barnhart of Palestine, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, and beautiful great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made Arkansas Children?s Hospital, 800 Marshall St, Slot 661, Little Rock, AR 72202; or Saint Patrick?s Catholic Church, 211 W 19th, Little Rock, AR 72114.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends before the service at 1 P.M., at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
