Rickey Nutt

Rickey Wayne Nutt, age 71, of Amity, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022. 

Rickey was born on May 31, 1951, in Amity.  He was the son of Dewey Euguene Nutt and Lillie Pearl Carol. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his two brothers Michael Nutt and Travis Nutt.

Rickey was a member of Blessed on the Rock Church. He was a logger for over 25 years but made farming his life’s work. He was always working in his chicken houses and with his cattle. He loved telling the many years of bird hunting stories with his dad and brother-in-law. Rickey loved to fish, golf, and most of all spend time with his children and grandchildren who he fondly gave each one a nickname. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Rickey is survived by the love of his life for 55 years, Charlotte Nutt; his son and daughter-in-law Jon and Gwen Nutt of Amity; his daughter and her life partner, Keli Mount and Byron Brunt of Amity; his sister and her husband, Chris and Bobby Perkins of Carlisle; his sister-in-law and her husband, Glenda and Ken Harding of Glenwood; his grandchildren, Justin and Blair Nutt, Gavin Nutt, Jake Nutt, Shaylie Mount, and Jax Brunt; his great-granddaughter, Georgia Paige Nutt; and his nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. John McAnally officiating.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Interment will be in the Jones Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Pallbearers will be Justin Nutt, Gavin Nutt, Jake Nutt, Ryan Nutt, Stewart Perkins, and Clark Perkins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Welch, Larry Kuykendall, Richie Richardson, Erman Mauldin, and Bill Lemsor.
