Rickie Lane Newcomb, 68, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on July 7, 2025. He was born on May 28,1957, to L.W. and Joann Newcomb (Harrell) in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Rickie loved his family first and above all else; this love was only second to his love of the lord and dedication to the Word.
The past 12 years he spent working at Walmart in Beebe allowed him to forge lifelong friendships. He took pride in the job he performed and the ability to start with this location in its setup phase. Those fortunate enough to work with him quickly took to his quick wit, love of life, superior work ethic, and positive attitude. His amazing co-workers made sure to tell him and anyone with him how amazing he was and how much he was missed when he was unable to work for any extended periods.
Rickie cherished his wife of 26 years and the life they built together raising their 6 children. This love and hard work resulted in the exceptional joy of having 23 grandchildren and then 7 great-grandchildren.
Outside of family, Rickie was an avid Star Wars fan. He collected several relics from the franchise. Rickie was able to check off a major bucket list item earlier this year with a trip to the Grand Canyon or “big ditch” as he liked to call it. He claimed it was more than he could have ever imagined and something everyone should experience at least once in their life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Regina Oates, sister-in-law Janet Newcomb and a grandson, Aaron Walker Lane Hammond.
Rickie is survived by his wife, Kim Newcomb; His children, Shenia (Gary) Yancey, Nickie (Scott) Brown, Robert (Jessica) Crehan, Kevin Crehan, Richard (Toni) Newcomb, Summer (Phillip) Smith; 23 grandchildren (Christopher, Kayla; Lauren, Meghan, Logan, Sydney, Dakota; Braxdyn; Myla, Mya, Nathaniel, Mia; Ryan, Zach, Holly, Riley, Dylan, Connor; Hadynn, Korbin, Lainey, AJ, and Payton; 7 great-grandchildren (Gabe, Jasper, Georgia, Gracelynn, June, Mila, Emma); two brothers, Mickey Newcomb and Tim (Pam) Newcomb; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other family members and friends.
He was a man who touched many lives, not only his family but all those around him. He was a husband, a Daddy, a Pappy, a friend, a confidant. One thing you could say is that he was cherished by everyone who knew him.
