Shackled by a heavy burden no longer, Heaven got a little brighter on Saturday, August 31, 2024 when Robbie Goff reached her ultimate goal… Heaven.
Robbie LaNell Goff is preceded in death by the love of her life, Charles, and her parents Arda and Irene Free.
She is survived by her three children: Dianna Goff of Searcy, Arkansas, Mike (Betty) Goff, of McKinney, Texas, and Jeffrey Goff of Searcy, Arkansas. Her only grandchild, Maggie Reedy (Hayden) of Carrollton, Texas and her sisters Bobbye Swears of Carlisle, Arkansas and Ardena Ashmead (Jerry) of Rose Bud, Arkansas.
Charles and Robbie were married October 13, 1955, and celebrated 65 years together. She made a loving home wherever they resided, from Beebe to Sherwood and finally Searcy, with a few other stops through the years.
Robbie was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church both in Beebe and Searcy. She had a beautiful voice that many enjoyed by way of the church choir and as a soloist. “He Touched Me” was one of her favorite songs to sing and she sang it effortlessly.
Robbie was a woman ahead of her time. She worked outside the home when it was not the norm. She worked for years at Suburban Casuals and Wallace Baker Chevrolet in Beebe, Gold’s House of Fashion in Little Rock and she managed the women’s department at Dillards in North Little Rock.
Known for her warm personality to all who knew her and her unwavering love for her family, Robbie was a rare gift to this world. From her big hair, twinkling eyes, and bright lipstick, Robbie held court wherever she was. A colorful caftan, gold Daniel Green slippers, and a big hug usually awaited whoever got to sit with her.
Now Robbie can say, “He touched me and oh the joy that floods my soul….”. Something did happen, and now Robbie knows, He touched her and made her whole.
