Robert Barron Engelberger, “Bob,” age 97, died July 15, 2026, at the VA hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born July 21, 1928, in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Florence Barron Engelberger; his son, Richard; his sister, Jeanne Cordell; and his brother, Charles Engelberger.

Bob is survived by his wife, Pat Carr Conder Engelberger; and his daughter, Karen Rivera (Raymond). He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Johna Machac and Richard Heusted (Danielle); and great-grandchildren, Caleb Heusted, Emma Shump, and Amme Owens. He is also survived by his stepdaughters, Debbie Conder-Zeringue and Terri Conder-Johnson (Randy); step-grandchildren, Tyler Zeringue (Carly), Ryan Johnson, and Garrett Johnson; and step-great-grandson, Tyler Jr. (TJ). He will be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews from his sister Jeanne—Jeannean, Sandy, Jimmy, Emilie, and Mary Ruth, and their families—and from his brother Charles—Charles Jr. (Chuck), Ronald, and Donald, and their families.

Bob was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6253. He was a lifelong member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge #1004, where he served as a past Elk of the Year and a past Trustee. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 942. Bob retired after 40 years in the paint industry, spending his last 18 years with Sterling Paint in Little Rock.

He was a true sports enthusiast whose love for the game went far beyond just watching from the sidelines. Whether it was the thrilling speed of horse racing, the strategy of football, or the precision of golf, he followed it all with unmatched passion. More than just a fan, Bob was a walking encyclopedia of sports trivia. He possessed an incredible mind for the game, always ready to share precise statistics, historical insights, and detailed information with anyone who shared his passion. He was also a fantastic dancer, and he and his wife loved to spend their time out on the dance floor.

Interment will be Wednesday, August 5th at 10:00am at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 Maryland Avenue, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72120. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans' Hospital, Hospice Unit (6E), for the excellent care they provided.

A celebration of the life of Robert Barron Engelberger will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the North Little Rock Elks Lodge following the graveside service, located at 123 East Broadway Street, North Little Rock.
