Robert Dewey Hurst

Robert Dewey Hurst, age 82, of Curtis, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026 at his home. He was born September 8, 1943 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to the late Jerry Glen and Mamie (Herron) Hurst. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, mowing, gardening, and taking care of his cattle. He especially loved cracking jokes and spending time with his family and his dogs, Rambo and Brownie. Robert attended Beech Street Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Mamie; wife, Shirley Hurst; and ten siblings.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, David Hurst (Jennifer) and Robin Hurst (Jacob), both of Curtis; grandchildren, Jenna McCorkel (Spencer) of Bryant, Logan Britt (Morgan) of Oklahoma, Hannah Melugin (River) of Arkadelphia; great-grandchildren, Karis, Heidi, and Shephard McCorkel, all of Bryant, and Lane Britt of Oklahoma; and brother James Roy Hurst (Kay) of Little Rock.

A celebration of life will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Beech Street Baptist Church in Gurdon. Fellowship will follow the service.
