Robert W. "Pop" Powell, age 68, of McRae, died January 4, 2013. He was born March 25, 1944 in Forrest Hill, Louisiana. He was the former owner of Searcy Business Systems and Powell Service Company. He was an Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War. Robert was a member of McRae First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Doris E. Powell of McRae; two sons, Greg (Debbie) Price of Searcy and Bobby W. Powell of McRae; one daughter, Holly (John) Dickerson of McRae; his mother, Viola Andrus of Pine Prairie, Louisiana; and six grandchildren: Dustin (Rachael) Price, Matt Jordan, McKenzie Holt, Gracie Holt, Jordan Dickerson, and Ava Dickerson.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Willie W. Powell; step-father, Shirley Leggett; two brothers, James Powell and William Powell; and one granddaughter, Emmaly Holt.
