Robert Thomas Shefelton, Jr., age 63, of Norman, passed away on May 3, 2025, at home with his wife at his side. He was born on October 8, 1961, to Robert Thomas Shefelton, Sr., and Judith Claire Bebout, in Columbus, Ohio.
Robert married the love of his life, Sherry, on December 30, 1990, in the middle of Operation Desert Storm. He was a member of Glenwood First Baptist Church. Robert received his MBA from Upper Iowa University in 2015. He had served 23 years in the military and retired as a MSGT. He was an active volunteer in the community. He was the interim minister of Norman Methodist Church and preached two Sundays a month, and he was a part of the prison ministry to share the word of the Lord with the prisoners. Robert was a part of the Murfreesboro Athletic Department, as a coach to many, keeping stats for football, and announcing baseball and softball, and volunteering for t-ball and high school sports. He coached football and wrestling at Fort Riley Middle School in Fort Riley, Kansas. In his spare time, he volunteered at food banks and with senior citizens. He was a talented carpenter, loved bird watching, and gardening. He loved spending time with his two granddaughters, who were the sunshine of his life. His love for animals, especially horses, ran deep, and his passion for their care was evident in every thoughtful gesture.
