Rodney Jay Cook, age 50, of Kirby, died Friday, December 7, 2012. He was born on May 16, 1962, at Jacinto City, Texas, the son of Ray Cook and Twyla Ann Woodall Cook. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he was formerly employed with Weyerhaeuser, a member of the Shawmut Hilton Hunting Club and the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by his two children, Christopher Cook of Kirby and Christina Cook of Glenwood; his parents, Ray and Twyla Cook of Kirby; his sister, Vicki Busby of Kirby; his niece, Calli Busby of Kirby; and the mother of his children, Becky Cook of Glenwood. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 10, 2012, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Bobby Golden officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Interment with military honors will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Larry Mack, Donnie Lynch, Donnie Reid, Kenny Womack, Kevin Fant, Brent Turner and Bill Tolleson. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
