Rolland Nelson age 91 of Pampa, TX, formerly of Arkadelphia, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012. He was born August 27, 1920 the son of John Davis and Hattie Golder Nelson.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and a member of the Trinity Temple Assembly of God Church in Arkadelphia.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Nora Kathleen Nelson, two sons, Randy (Jennifer) Nelson of Bismarck, Richard (Angie) Nelson of Springfield, MO, one daughter, Janie (Ronnie) Richard of Pampa, TX one sister, Marie Furnatter of Magnolia, TX, a sister-in-law, Leona Nelson of Ft. Smith, AR, six grandsons, Alan Richard, Richie, Joey, Michael, Jeremy, and Aaron Nelson, four granddaughters, Sherri Murray, Tracy Abbott, Joanna Nelson, and Hanna Hawthorne, four great grandsons, Zach Murray, Tyler Lindgren, William Martini, and Elijah Hawthorne, four great granddaughters, Angela Bentley, Terra Lavrenz, Alexis Martini, and Layne Nelson, four great great granddaughters, Aubrey Nelson, Delannie Hawthorne, Arianna Phillips, and Alyssa Diers, two great great grandsons, Bryson and Bradlee Lavrenz.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday in the Trinity Temple Assembly of God Church in Arkadelphia with Pastor Rick Mays officiating. Visitation will be 4-6 PM Sunday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Burial will be in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Hillcrest Children's Home, A G Family service agency, 2325 Malvern Ave., Hot Springs, AR 71901.
