Ron Mayfield

Ron Mayfield, age 59, passed away on October 29, 2012 at his home in Benton, AR. Ron was born on December 16, 1952 in East St. Louis, IL.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 13 years; Deborah Griffey Mayfield, four children; Rhonda Spangler and spouse Mike, Derek Mayfield, Dustin Mayfield, and Clay Griffey and spouse Adrian, 2 sisters; Mary Snyder and spouse Dennis and Trish Thiel, 6 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and other family members who loved him and will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Eugene and Shirley Mayfield, and 1 son.
Ron was of the Lutheran faith. He worked at Alltel in networking. Ron served his country in the Air Force and is a Vietnam veteran. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #60 and the American Legion. He attended college at the Danville Community College in Danville, Illinois and taught there for several years as well as working at the Danville Library . Ron enjoyed wood-working, computers, camping and his two loyal canine companions, Angel and Max. He loved politics and watching Fox News day and night.
A memorial celebration and visitation will be held Saturday, Nov.3rd, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. officiated by Saline Memorial Hospice Chaplin Kim Hammer at Peaceful Haven Funeral Home. Ron's family would like to acknowledge a special thanks to Glenna Head who was Ron's caregiver as well as thanking Saline Memorial Hospice and staff.
