Ron Snow, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on May 8, 2025, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Ron was born on December 2, 1941, in San Angelo, Texas, to Charles and Cathryn Snow.
Ron graduated from San Angelo Central High in 1959 and went on to study at San Angelo College. From 1964 to 1966, Ron served the country as a Specialist 4th Class Medic in the United States Army, where he earned the esteemed expert marksman badge for his rifle proficiency. His time was spent at Fort Sam Houston working alongside doctors. His commitment to helping others did not end with his military service.
He obtained a BBA from Texas Tech in 1968 and earned an associate’s degree in Radiology from Baptist Allied Health in 1992. For two decades, Ron impacted the lives of countless patients working as an X-ray technician at St. Vincent’s. Ron’s desire to educate and inspire, combined with his eagerness to stay busy led him to become an instructor at Heritage College for three and a half years following his retirement. Ron’s professional journey was further complemented by his entrepreneurial spirit; he even owned a successful framing business that allowed him to showcase his artistic abilities and attention to detail.
He truly embodied the spirit of a jack-of-all-trades. He found joy in tackling any project that came his way, whether it was building an extension on his home, doing electrical work, or just fixing things that came his way. Ron was also a member of Summit Church’s “Joshua Team”, which was an organization dedicated to repairing things for community members free of charge. However, despite his many talents, he once humorously struggled putting his granddaughter Avery’s hair in a bun when his wife Ann had asked him to do her hair for a ballet class. Ron later redeemed himself by learning how to color Ann's hair, embodying his loving and adaptable nature.
He is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Cathryn Snow, and his nephew, Joshua Honebrink. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ann Snow, his sons, Steven Snow (Nicole) of Little Rock, AR, and Shawn Snow of Bismark, AR; grandchildren, Avery Snow of Little Rock, AR, Serenity Snow, and Justice Snow of Bismark, AR; sisters, Marsha Blackshear (Bob) and Gay Honebrink (David); nieces and nephews, Amy Sewell, Chrissy Gregg (Darin), Matthew Honebrink, and Sarah Gadsby (Tavian); grandnieces and grandnephews, Amanda Sewell, Ian Gregg, Logan Gregg, and Aaliyah Gadsby.
Ron Snow leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and an unyielding spirit that will continue to resonate within the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his warmth, generosity, and unwavering commitment to making the world a better place.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct, Little Rock, Arkansas, 72205.
In lieu of flowers, Ron’s family requests memorials be made to Summit Missions, Boy Scouts of America, or Baptist Preparatory School.
