Ronald Duke, Sr.

Ronald Clark Duke Sr., 84, of Hot Springs, formerly of Glenwood, died Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
He was born on March 2, 1940, in the Hopper community to parents Hilmon H. Duke and Jewel
P. Duke. On December 30, 1972, he married the love of his life, Annette Duke.
He is preceded in death by his parents.

He was a loving husband, father, and amazing “paw paw.”
He enjoyed a successful career in banking as Owner/ President of the Bank of Glenwood. He
would go on to own many businesses, including Glenwood’s GMC truck dealership, Chevrolet
car dealership, several used car dealerships in Hot Springs, mobile home sales, and Ron Duke
Plaza in Glenwood.
Ron is a graduate of Glenwood High School class of 1957. He also graduated from Henderson
State University with a degree in finance and holds a master’s degree in banking from SMU in
Dallas, TX.

He is survived by his wife Retha Annette Duke of Hot Springs: his son Rustin Duke of Hot
Springs: two sons, Ronald Duke Jr of Glenwood, and Richard C. Duke of Hot Springs Village; one
step-son Shawn Luekenga of Phoenix, AZ. One daughter, Rhonda Bruening of California; 8
grandchildren, Ronald Clark Duke III, Chandler Duke, Taylor Chapman, Traci Duke, Aimee Ford,
Carson Duke, Abigail Johnson, and Zane Luekenga.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at the Smith Family Funeral Home in
Glenwood with Pastor Donald Tinsley of Shreveport officiating.
Pallbearers will be: Darren Crawford, Roger Hudgins, Mark Duchac, DeWayne Mack
Special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and CNAs at Arkansas Extended Care Hospital in Hot
Springs.
