Retired Air National Guard Chief Master Sergeant, Ronald Leighton Hilton, 77, of Sherwood passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013. He was born October 24, 1935 in Boaz, Alabama to Leighton and Stella Castleberry Hilton. He was a member of the Apostolic Church of North Little Rock and served as an usher for many years.
He is survived by the love of his life, of 57 years, Margaret Dillon Hilton; son, Terry Hilton, of Sherwood; daughter, Donna Hilton Haggard, of Sherwood; grandson, Chad Hilton, of Redfield; brother, Kendall Hilton (Becky) of Benton; two sisters, Lucille McKee (Terry) and Cecilia Hayes (Leon) of Sherwood; two nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Rhonda Hilton; son-in-law, Greg Haggard; and his brother, Baby Clyde.
Ron enjoyed camping, coaching baseball and woodworking. He was a skilled craftsman and a "jack of all trades". He especially loved league bowling with his son. He was passionate about his heritage and researching his family tree. He wrote a book he was proud of entitled, "Digging up Bones". Ron was a loving husband and fathera�"a man of few words but spoke volumes through his character.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday at Apostolic Church of North Little Rock. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, a Smith Family Funeral Home. Online obituary at www.SmithFamilyCares.com .
