Ronald (Ron) Wilson Homsher 89 of Austin, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on May 8th 2026. He was born on September 29th 1936 to the late Marshall Lee and Margie Mae Homsher of Columbus, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his father and mother Marshall and Margarie Homsher, his wife Bobbie Homsher, and grandson Alex Cash.
He is survived by his sons Jerry, Dennis (Sandra), and Lewis (Kim); his daughter Canderia Cash; his brother Bill Homsher; his sister Susan Perry; his grandsons Michael (Staci) Homsher, Chad (Stephanie) Hart, Jeremy (Sarah) Homsher, Beau (Bailey) Flynn; his granddaughters Wendi (Scoop) Bloxson, Jared Homsher, and Katelin Flynn; great grandsons Cade and Gavin Hart, Miguel Homsher, Josh Ruiz, Carter and Weston Bock; great granddaughters Katalina Homsher, Addyson Avery RyLee and Blakelynn Homsher, Neveah and A’niah Bloxson, Celeste Ruiz, Blair Flynn, along with many other friends and loved ones.
Ronald was a devout Christian man who loved the Lord with all his heart. He was married 70 years to his high school sweetheart the late Barbara Homsher, he served our country for over 20 years in the United States Air Force and received the Air Force Longevity Service Award with 4 oak leaf clusters, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 4 oak leaf clusters. During his service he traveled the globe protecting America and served a tour in Vietnam. There he served as a Flight Engineer on a C 130 and was the last surviving member of his C 130 crew. Ronald’s family meant the world to him; he cared deeply for each and every one of them. He loved hunting, fishing, motorcycles, and side car motorcycle rallies. After retiring from the Air Force he worked and retired from Dassault Falcon Jet, Circuit City, and Walmart. He served as a Deacon and usher for over 10 years at Mt. Caramel Baptist Church in Cabot Arkansas, and even though he had diabetes he had his hidden sweets drawer as he always had a sweet tooth!
Visitation is Monday afternoon May 18th, 2026, from 1pm - 2pm at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home 404 W Dewitt Henry DR Beebe, Arkansas. Funeral Service will be held right afterwards at 2pm May 18th, 2026, in the Chapel at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home with burial to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery Austin, Arkansas.
