Ronald John Kieklak

Listen to Obituary

Ronald John Kieklak of North Little Rock passed away on Sunday morning, October 12, 2025. He would turn 88 in November. Ron is survived by Liz, his wife of 65 years, his sister Joyce, of Ft. Meyer, FL and four of his five children, Ron, Jr., Elizabeth “Sissy”, Tom and Ken. Ron’s second son, Steve, was waiting for Ron and took his hands and greeted him when he walked into heaven. Ron had 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, with two more on the way.

He was often heard to say that he was lucky to have two careers in his life and he loved them both. Ron retired as a Lt. Colonel in the Air Force after 22 years of service, then taught high school at North Little Rock High School for 17 years. It is impossible to measure the contribution he made to the security of his country and to the lives of the students he was privileged to teach. Ron enjoyed playing golf and planting beautiful flowers in his retirement, but his true love was the company of his children, grandchildren, golf buddies and every, single day, his wife. He was immensely curious and always interested in the lives and thoughts of his children and grandchildren. He never, ever failed to lift and encourage them, never lacking enthusiasm as he cheered and supported the kids he loved so much. Ron loved to laugh, especially at his own jokes, which he was often unable to finish, too tickled as the punchline arrived. Ron would remind us to use your brain and to follow the three rules of work: Be on Time; Keep your Desk Neat; Do Your Work. He will be missed so very much, by his wife, his children, grandchildren, friends and students whom he admired.

His family thanks Father Harvey and Arkansas Hospice for the sensitive, beautiful, loving care they gave that allowed him to peacefully slip from this world into the company of his son and the arms of the Lord.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to Arkansas Hospice and Children’s Hospital.
