Ronald Leon O'Connor and Darlene Marie O'Connor

Soul mates, RONALD LEON O’CONNOR, 80, and his wife of 60 years, DARLENE MARIE O’CONNOR, also 80, of Greers Ferry, passed away 8 hours apart, June 5th 2025 and June 4th 2025. They are survived by Sisters, Connie and Celeste; Son, Bill O’Connor and Wife Sherrie, Son, Mike O’Connor and Wife Kristina; Grandchildren, Misty Dawson and Husband Brett, Matt O'Connor and Wife Kristen, Mike O'Connor; Great Grandchildren, Angelique, Reed, Harper, Brinley, Briar, and Brecken. 

Ron was a graduate of Purdue University followed by a very successful career in the U.S. Air Force as a C130 navigator, instructor, and culminating in his position as base commander of Wheeler Air Force Base in Hawaii as a Lieutenant Colonel, a position normally held with rank of Colonel or higher. His Air Force career took him all over the world and always by his side was Darlene. Darlene was exceptionally talented with everything she did, from interior decorating, cooking competitions, realtor, lab technician, private pilot, gardening, painting, even becoming a volunteer EMT later in life.
