Rose Etta Anderson

Rose Etta Anderson, 81, passed away on September 8, 2026, just days before her 82nd birthday. She was born on September 13, 1944.

Rose will be remembered as a devoted mother, a caring nurse, and a woman who gave her time and heart generously to both her family and her community. She retired as a registered nurse after a career that included work at the old Ouachita Hospital, Old St. Joseph Hospital, National Park Hospital, and in home health. Through that work, she touched many lives with compassion and steady care.

Her life was also marked by service beyond her profession. Rose spent many years as a volunteer firefighter with the Morning Star Fire Department. After retirement, she enjoyed serving as a host at the Core of Engineers Campgrounds, continuing her pattern of welcoming and helping others. Those who knew her also knew how deeply she loved flowers and plants, with roses holding a special place in her heart. She loved camping and treasured time spent with her family. Rose was a great mother and was loved by so many. As her family so lovingly says, “Forever our Rose, forever our mom.”

Rose is survived by her son, Darrell Tigue, and his wife, Karmen; her daughters, Betty Espenschied and her husband, Joseph, Senath Midkiff, Viola Patton and her husband, Stewart, and Valerie Larue and her husband, Jeff; twelve grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a family who will carry her memory forward with love and gratitude, remembering her kindness, strength, and the comfort of her presence.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Anderson; her husband, Curtis Tigue; and her parents, George Reynolds and Maggie Reynolds.

Rose Etta Anderson’s life was one of service, love, and deep devotion to those around her. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
