Rosie White

Listen to Obituary

Rosie Lee White was born in Crossett, Arkansas on April 29, 1926 to Fanny Barnett and Abner Morris Harrington. She was one of fourteen children.

In 1950, she and Robert White married and soon moved to North Little Rock. When their daughter was born, she became a full-time housewife. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church and taught children’s Sunday school. For many years she was active in PTA throughout her daughter’s school years. She was in a bowling league and could be found at Pike Lanes every Tuesday morning. After her husband’s death in 1975, she entered the workforce and eventually ended her work career at Target. She also began line dancing and went “boot scooting” at senior centers throughout central Arkansas at least 3 times a week until well into her 90s! She moved to live with her daughter and son in law in Bauxite in 2021.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, and siblings Estelle, Curtis, Francis, Edward, Robert, Syble, Amon, Roy, and Gerald.

Surviving are her siblings Essie Myers of Crossett, AR, Jessie Harvey of Jonesboro, LA, Reatha Laws of Harrison, AR, and Billy (Alta) Harrington of Crossett, AR.

Rosie is also survived by her daughter Carolyn Waldorf and son in law Ray, her granddaughters Christ (Luke) Howell and Cindy (Brian) Moore, bonus grandchildren Amanda Waldorf and Eric (Crystal) Waldorf, great grandchildren Dylan (Cassidy) Howell, Derek (Allie) Howell, Isabelle Firth, Hanah, Braden, Abigail, Gavin and Ganon, and great-great grandchildren Nolan, Elena and Collins and arriving soon, Koe. She is also survived by other extended family too numerous to count much less name!

Rosie celebrated her 100th birthday last week. Visiting her loved ones in person, by phone, or FaceTime. She received well over 30 cards and read each one often commenting how sweet the sender was to remember her. She opened gifts and admired flowers she received. Afterwards she told stories about the numerous and always adventurous trips cross country with her sisters, taking Christy and Cindy and later Dylan and Derek camping and all the baseball and football games she attended. She was always an involved mamaw! She has a wonderful day, filled with love and cake. Then on Saturday morning at age 100 years and 3 days, she left us to go dance on Heaven’s streets of gold. We are blessed she was ours and so thankful God was gracious and took her quickly. We know we will be together again.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 7, 2026 beginning at 11:00 AM at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior.
