Roy Haywood Herndon III

Roy (Woody) Haywood Herndon III, passed away on August 8, 2023.  He was born on October 7, 1950, in Culver City, California to Roy Haywood Herndon II and Mickey McGlinchey Hernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Haywood Herndon II and wife, Sylvia; mother, Mickey McGlinchey Herndon and brother, Gregg Herndon.

Roy retired from the Conway Police Department and Conway Security.  He was also honorably discharged from the Army.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta (Ward) Herndon; son, Chris Greenhaw (Shannon);, daughter, Jessica Rhoades (Adam); grandchildren, Keegan Haywood Rhoades, Hunter Lane Greenhaw, Keelei Elizabeth Rhoades; sisters, Lyric Major of Joplin, Missouri, Monica Dean (Gary) of Palm Coast, Florida, Chris Larimer (Bred) of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Kathy Johnson (Roger), Debbie Jackson (Lloyd), Robilyn Carter; brother, Larry Loyd; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Honorary Pallbearers will be all his brothers in Blue from the Conway Police Department.

Graveside Memorial Service will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 21, 2023, at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, Arkansas. with full military honors.
