Roy Lee "Pa" Owens, Jr.

Roy Lee “Pa” Owens, Jr., age 94, of Bonnerdale, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

He was born on September 25, 1927, the son of Roy Lee Owens, Sr. and Ruby Mae Dale Owens.  On December 21, 1957, he was married to the love of his life, Priscilla Ann Diggs.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Guy Owens; his brother, Ray Owens; and his sister, Ruby Louise Luttrell.

Roy worked for many years as a carpenter and was Construction Superintendent for Bush Construction.  He also worked as a logger, was a United States Navy Veteran, a 32^nd degree Mason and a member of the Glenwood Masonic Lodge No. 662.  He was a faithful member of the Glenwood First Church of the Nazarene, and deeply loved the Lord and his church family.

Roy assisted in building the Queen Wilhelmina Lodge in Mena, the Glenwood Christian School, St. Joseph Hospital in Hot Springs, and the Rostan School.  Roy worked hard his entire life, and thoroughly enjoyed everything he accomplished.  He finally retired when he was 83 years old, only because his eyesight started failing him.

Roy never met a stranger and took great joy in always helping others any chance he would get.  Roy deeply loved his family and was a wonderful and devoted husband, dad, grandpa, and friend to many.  Our Pa will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but we hold strong in knowing that he has left us with many memories that we will all cherish for our lifetime. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Priscilla Owens, and his daughter, Roxanne Owens, both of Bonnerdale; his four grandchildren and their spouses, Misty and Jason Tweedle, Dustin and Krissy Owens, Zach and Shelly Moss, and Kassi Moss; his seven great-grandchildren, Austin Tweedle, Peyton and Bryli Owens, Chance and Calli Moss, and Lexi and Bentley Graves; his sister, Robbie Diggs of Bonnerdale; numerous extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, May 31, 2022, in the Glenwood First Church of the Nazarene with Bro. Gerald Palmer and Bro. Tony Hill officiating.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM, prior to the services at the church.

Interment will be in the Nelson Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Owens, Jason Tweedle, Zach Moss, Darrell Diggs, Jeff Evans, and Hardy Reynolds.

Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Tweedle, Ken Bush, Vannie Edwards, Herb Brodgen, Danny Caldwell, JB Evans, Shelly and the staff of Hospice Home Health, and the Glenwood Masonic Lodge No. 662.
