Roy Vernon Shepherd

Roy Vernon Shepherd, age 93, of Coweta, Oklahoma, formerly of Arkadelphia, Arkansas passed away Thursday, October 15, 2026 at his home in Coweta. He was born September 3, 1933 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to the late Arlie Lee and Gertrude (Kaufman) Shepherd along with four brothers. He loved going to visit, eat, and play pool at the Broken Arrow Senior Citizen Center. In his early years, Roy enjoyed woodworking, working in his shop, and working on his yard. He served four years in the Navy on the USS Kula Gulf. Roy retired from the aircraft industry. He attended Glory Land Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Bledsoe) Shepherd; and son, Alan Shepherd.

Roy is survived by many nephews, nieces, and friends. The family would like to express their gratitude to the friends and neighbors in the Coweta Community that helped Roy during his daily life.

Graveside services are 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 23, 2026 at DeGray Cemetery with Brother David Young officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the DeGray Cemetery Fund, c/o Jo Reeder, 133 Pierce Road, Arkadelphia, AR 71923.
