Ruby Higgs

Ruby Jewell Higgs, 93, of Beebe passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017. She was born in Keo on October 14, 1923 to Hugh and Mabelle Edmonson. She was a longtime member of Highway Baptist Church and attended Bethel Baptist Church and Geyer Springs Baptist Church.

Ruby is survived by her children, Ellis Higgs, Dean Davis (Jim), Christine Manley, Dale Higgs (Glenda), Beverly Thomas (Harold), Debby Howell (Lewis), Weeda Jones, Janet Cook (Alan); seventeen grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; sister, Maxine Carsten and other extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Higgs; sons, Charles E. Higgs, Gary M. Higgs, Mickey T. Higgs; granddaughter, Charity Humphrey; great-granddaughter, Jamie Hopkins; and five sisters.

Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Highway Baptist Church, 5845 Roundtop Road, NLR. Burial will follow at 1:00 P.M. at Wolf Cemetery in Oppelo.
