Rusty L. Wood

Listen to Obituary

Rusty Leuis Wood, 52, of Fayetteville, AR, passed away on March 31, 2026.

Rusty was born to Teena Whitney on January 28, 1974 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Rusty is survived by his loving wife of 3 years, Mary-Frances Wood, his "Goblin." Rusty is also survived by David Pugh, his best friend who became a brother along the way, brother Jason Wood, sister Jessica Andres, daughter Madisyn Wood (Fiance Austin Jones), son Nathan Wood, son Niqolas Wood, step-daughter Ren Morales, and many other loving family members.

Rusty was predeceased by his uncle and father figure, Maverick Whitney.

Rusty was a brilliant dungeon master. Rusty played Dungeons and Dragons for over 30 years. He was known for his expansive universes and the detailed characters that he created. Rusty also loved gaming, specifically World of Warcraft and Fortnite, and was known for completing every single mission within every game he played. He was devoted to detail and appreciated every single aspect of the games he played. The Detroit Lions gave him some high highs and some low lows. Throughout every phase, he was a devoted fan.

Rusty was so unconditionally pure in the love he gave. While the grass wasn't always green in his perspective, he approached every phase of this life with a smile on his face and an unparalleled perseverance. He loved his mother, his children, and his wife so well. While he did love entirely, he constantly reminded his Goblin that she was "on her BS" because of her playful nature. From sunrise to sunset! Rusty was just a kind person who will be so deeply missed.
