Ruth E. Lunceford

Ruth E. Lunceford, age 93, of Mount Ida, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017, at her home. She was born on June 16, 1924 in Duncan, Oklahoma, the daughter of Elwin Gerald Eaton and Ella Ann Files Eaton. On December 20, 1948, she was married to Joe Willard Lunceford who preceded her in death on July 16, 2008. She was a stay at home mother and enjoyed cooking for her family. She loved to read and work on word puzzles. She was active in the Mount Ida Senior Citizens Center. She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jack Lunceford of Mount Ida and Daryl and Donna Lunceford of Hot Springs; one daughter, Vickie Lunceford of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Brown of Tipton, Oklahoma and Maryann Mink of Cement, Oklahoma. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 26, 2017, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood, with Bro. Bud Wilburn officiating. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
